Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a system of healing science stimulating the body’s inherent power to regain health with the help of five great elements of nature – Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Ether. Naturopathy is a call to "Return to Nature" and to resort to simple way of living in harmony with the self, society and environment. Naturopathy provides not only a simple practical approach to the management of diseases, but a firm theoretical basis which is applicable to all the holistic medical care and by giving attention to the foundations of health; also offers a more economical frame work for the medicine of future generation.


Though the basic Nature Cure deals only with Panchamahabhoota’s, the recent developments advocates the practice of drugless therapies like Massage, Electrotherapy, Physiotherapy, Acupuncture and Acupressure, Magneto therapy etc., Diet plays a major role, above all. According to the basic concept of Naturopathy or Nature cure, healing comes from within the body itself. There are self-curative forces, which are inherent in the human body working towards health and healing. Naturopathy believes that all forms of disease are due to the same cause, that is, the accumulation of waste materials and toxins in our bodies that are steadily piling up. Nature cure believes that disease is one, its cause is one and so its treatment is on


It is beyond doubt that Nature Cure is a sure cure for a majority of the diseases and though inexpensive, it is very effective. In other words, it is a drugless healing which is unique because it has no side-effects what so ever. It has preventive, curative and promotive aspects of health. It only demands a little sacrifice, time, patience and perseverance. Diet plays its role in preventive, curative and promotive aspects of health. 90% of the total numbers of diseases arise from faulty food habits and hence correction of food habits helps to regain health. Food which has not been cooked on fire has a great importance in diet therapy, as in such food, the vitamins and their enzymes; minerals and other nutrients are not destroyed and remain intact.


Yoga

Yoga is a perfect practical system of self-culture. Yoga is an exact science. It aims at the harmonious development of the body, the mind and the soul. Yoga is the turning away of the senses from the objective universe and the concentration of the mind within. Yoga is eternal life in the soul or spirit. Yoga aims at controlling the mind and its modifications. The path of Yoga is an inner path whose gateway is your heart.


Yoga is the discipline of the mind, senses and physical body. Yoga helps in the co-ordination and control of the subtle forces within the body. Yoga brings in perfection, peace and everlasting happiness. You can have calmness of mind at all times by the practice of Yoga. You can have restful sleep. You can have increased energy, vigour, vitality, longevity and a high standard of health. Yoga transmutes animal nature into divine nature and raises you to the pinnacle of divine glory and splendour.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a ancient Indian Sanskrit word that means "The Science of Self Healing" or "The Science of Life. Ayurveda is a simple, practical science of life whose principles are universally applicable to each individual’s daily existence. Ayurveda speaks to every element and facet of human life, offering guidance that has been tested and refined over many centuries to all those who seek greater harmony and peace and longevity. Ayurveda places great emphasis on prevention and encourages the maintenance of health through close attention to balance in one’s life, right thinking, diet, lifestyle and the use of herbs. Knowledge of Ayurveda enables one to understand how to create this balance of body, mind and consciousness according to one’s own individual constitution and how to make lifestyle changes to bring about and maintain this balance.


Many factors, both internal and external, act upon us to disturb this balance and are reflected as a change in one’s constitution from the balanced state. Examples of these emotional and physical stresses include one’s emotional state, diet and food choices, seasons and weather, physical trauma, work and family relationships. Once these factors are understood, one can take appropriate actions to nullify or minimize their effects or eliminate the causes of imbalance and re-establish one’s original constitution. Balance is the natural order; imbalance is disorder. Within the body there is a constant interaction between order and disorder. When one understands the nature and structure of disorder, one can re-establish order.

Massages

Appropriately prescribed different massages can be powerful tool in the healing process, stimulating blood circulation, increasing muscle tone, and promoting overall relaxation. It is also used to introduce herbal medication into the body. Local, full body, Keralian, special vibro, powder, rice, and potli are some of the massages that we offer.

Steam Bath

This relaxing treatment opens the pores, cleanses the skin, and improves circulation. Different herbs can be added to aid in curing various bodily conditions. Steam bath is normally given after an oil massage to help in improving general circulation and easy removal of toxic waste out of body.

Hydrotherapy

The healing effects of water treatment have been celebrated for centuries. Application of hot and cold water can be administered in wraps, packs, baths, friction rubs, jet streams, enemas etc. Hydrotherapy works on the basic principle of change in temperature. Hot, cold or alternate use of hot & cold water gives the desired effect. Even a simple foot bath helps soothe everyday aches and stiffness.

Mud Therapy

Mud treatment helps to remove toxins from the body and can be applied in localized areas or over the entries body in a full mud bath form. Our daily mud packs (for the eyes and abdomen) help to cool the system. Different types of mud can be mixed with natural herbal and spices, depending upon the patient's condition.

Enema

It is a basic treatment in nature cure. Water with or without any additives is injected into the rectum by enema apparatus to clean accumulated fecal matter, from large intestine. Water, herbal water, honey water, wheat grass, etc can be used to free the intestines of toxic waste. This treatment is useful before and during fasting and other body cleansing programs.

Magnet Therapy

Application of bio and electromagnets are used for the treatment of various disorders. Magnetic water is also beneficial as it balance the polarity of the body. Various nervous & muscular as well as metabolic disorders are helped by the use of magnet therapy.

Acupressure & Reflexology

Reflexology energizes the nerve centers as well as improves and balances the functioning of various glands and organs. Acupuncture

An ancient and widely proven method of activating the nervous system and major organs by the insertion of fine, disposable needles in specific points of the body to balance the body's natural harmony. By doing so, the obstructed flow of energy is cleared and the balance in body’s life energy is established. It is also used for many pain related conditions.

Yogic Shatkarma

Usually Saturday or Sunday are the days when yogic purificatory practices are practiced at ANCC for excreting toxic wastes accumulated in various parts of body. Neti for cleansing the nasal passage. Shankhprakshalana for cleansing the whole of digestive track, that is very much helpful in most disease related to digestive system. Trataka is also done on this day.

Yogasana

Yoga and exercise foster healthy blood circulation, muscle tone and physical strength, which are vital ingredients for good health. A yoga class is held every morning in the yoga hall in treatment section. You are requested to wear loose & comfortable clothing for yoga session. Specific therapeutic yoga sessions are conducted as per patients’ condition & doctor’s advice.

Meditation & Prayer

As you practice this technique, you will automatically become less and less self-centered and more and more selfless. We actually spend hours and hours every day subconsciously praying to fulfill our desires and ego trips. As this suffering-causing habit lessens, we become more and more ready to listen silently as God whispers lovingly to us. They help to balance the endocrine system. Meditation and prayer also calms the mind, enhancing the effectiveness of other treatments.

Fasting

Fasting should not be confused with starvation. It is constructive while starvation is destructive. Controlled abstinence from food has been used therapeutically for over 2000 years. It allows body to focus its resources on detoxifying the system and provides a valuable opportunity for the inner mechanism to rest, repair, rejuvenate, and cleanse.

Food & Dietetics

Food supplies the necessary life-giving nutrients to the body. Most diseases are either fuelled by or the result of a poor and imbalanced diet. Eating the right kind of food is one of the most important factor in attaining and maintaining good health. At the center, we design specific diet programs for each individual based on the medical condition. Different methods of diet treatment are applied such as water fasting, juice diet, fruit diet, mono-diet, raw food diet etc. The center takes great care in serving a selection of the finest, freshest, healthiest food – buffet style. Special care is taken for providing you with hygienic & organically grown vegetables and fruits.

Physiotherapy

The center has a full-fledged physiotherapy unit having wide range of manual and computerized physiotherapy equipments. Physiotherapy is proved to be beneficial for many diseases of muscular and nervous origin.


Note: Treatment Sections are separate for gents & ladies. Treatments like hydrotherapy, hot and cold packs, local body massage, steam bath, mud packs, magnet & acupressure therapy, yoga therapy, enema, natural diet, doctors regular consultation are all included in the basic room and treatments charge.

Ananddham uses a combination of Nature cure, Ayurveda, and Yoga to give you rejuvenate, revitalize and revive feeling. Mental health through yoga, meditation, magnet therapies, diet therapies and spiritual through prayer, socialization, evening talks. These all are part of our Anandmayai culture.
